Journal Entry 1

My goal was to set up the environment for the class and register the project on itch.io. As I already had VS Studio 2019 installed I skipped that step jumping straight into installation of unity hub and unity itself. I registered on itch.io and created the skeleton of the Project A with the neccessary tag.
Later I went though the unity built-in tutorial on the pre-made FPS game. The tutorials were: Playtest, Add a Room, Edit Colors, Add an Enemy Bot, Import Your First Asset.

I downloaded the Platformer from unity and started going through the assigned tutorials. Overall everything was understandable. I lost track of time trying to go deeper in the beginning, but quickly recovered from it and kept the time roughly same as it was written on the gamedev website. I didn't finish all of them in that day.

Continued the tutorials. Again, everything was understandable and there weren't any problems but one. The tutorial: Paint your level game me complications as I couldn't find the required tools for it. I'm guessing that it was just a bit of difference between the tutorial version and my unity version. Tutorial 2019.3 and mine 2019.4. Will need to get back to it.

I went by instructions. Watched the recorded lecture and had to pause in the beginning to read The Door Problem. It was quite an interesting representation I must say and needless to say it was funny as well. After the recorded lecture I followed the link to One Page Designs and watched the presentation. The website for Game Journal entry remains only pratially investigated. That's another thing I should come back to.
